What We’re Reading for August 12th
Puppies and Kittens for the Win!
This past week some WTM’ers attended SuperZoo, a national trade show showcasing the pet industry. Here at WTM we are all about pet, and enjoy when fellow coworkers bring in their own pups to work with us for the day. Having pets in the office is a great way to lower stress levels during a hectic work schedule. Some companies have starting holding adoption events in office where clinics bring in kittens and puppies for the day. Employees are able to sign up for session to meet and play with the fur babies. Not only is this great for employee morale, it’s also a great way to help out local animal shelters and raise money for the community. (Contributed by Online PR Specialist Michelle Bull)
Using Content to Create a Lifestyle Brand
What does it take to be considered a lifestyle brand? Contently examines the different components of what makes up a lifestyle brand using Lululemon as a case study. In short, to be a lifestyle brand you need to live the lifestyle and create content that reflects more than just your products. (Contributed by Online PR Specialist Sarah Walsh)
We all trust what our friends have to say more than we trust what ads are saying to us. Consumers are being influenced in many different ways, but this time around, bloggers are pulling through and winning them over instead. Big beauty brands like LANCÔME and Estée Lauder are shifting their digital budget and allocating funds to beauty bloggers to promote their products. For followers, they feel a personal connection with the bloggers they tune into and therefore, trust the products they promote. (Contributed by Jr. Online PR Specialist Angalena Malavenda)

Google Remarketing Lists for Search Ads Arrive
Being super interested in Remarketing, RLSAs are one of the unsung heroes that we turn to in order to generate some serious results. Now… they are making their way out of the Google Search and into the Search Partners. While this still remains a relatively small subset of sites, it just opens up the possibilities for more remarketing magic! (Contributed by Director of Search Marketing Justin Emig)
Advertising That Inspires
Seeing what other cultures are doing in the marketing and advertising world is a fun, interesting, and helpful exercise. Australians, for example, have incorporated their unique sense of humor and Australian pride into their user-focused advertising campaigns and the results are fantastic. This is inspring, from a paid advertising perspective. It’s sparked some new ideas and highlighted the importance of speaking directly to users in advertising messages.
